Lovin' Lovebox

Early June saw in my first festival of the year- and a festival I had yet to experience. In the heart of East London we found ourselves in a muddy Victoria Park for our first LOVEBOX festival. And what a wonderful experience it was!!!

 for those that wondered, yes, i got many a Lady Gaga comparison throughout the weekend. I'm not complaining- with that amount of rain, wind and mud for 70% of the weekend, it could definitely have been worse...

Hailed as "London's answer to Glastonbury", Lovebox was fun and friendly, and sure enough filled its title of Glastonbury of the urban world. Personal highlights were:

*Two Bears...featuring some of the BEST dancers I have ever seen in my life. What I wouldn't give to be one of those brightly coloured, spandex clad marvels!!! See what I'm talking about HERE

*Kelis...FINALLY got to see one of my ABSOLUTE IDOLS and golly gosh she did not disappoint. Making her entrance in a flamenco dress that appeared to have been inspired by her hair, Kelis (who is EVEN MORE HUSKY AND SEXY IN REAL LIFE!!!) spent 20mins of her set playing drums, and managed to fit in ALL her classics (even "GOT YOUR MONEY""!!!!)

*Boy Better Know...didn't hardly know who they were before friday night but Alannah literally cried with excitement when we were on the train to London for our first day of festival-ing, so I knew we were onto something good. A memorable performance to say the least....any followers out there, please help me out with this one if you can!!

who, it goes without saying, was incredible, and left us with a surge of Girl Power so strong it was like a 90's revival.
