i need to do more stuff like this, influence and love; i thought meisel would be a good place to start. i found fuckyeahstevenmeisel thanks to sophie davidson on tumblr which, being a fantastic source of photos, gave me the perfect excuse to start something i have been intending to start for ages.
WHY I LIKE STEVEN MEISEL; because it's not strictly fashion. there is an interpretive element to his work, which is very much outside the box. a beautiful nod at a more true to life style is often used, fusing editorial and documentary styles.
i have photos from the above set on my wall....or the back of my door to be precise. surround yourself with what you find beautiful

spent ages trying to find this set...ended up just googling it so unfortunately the images are not of as high a quality as the above HOWEVER these photographs are very important to me as they were the first set I saw by steven meisel; flicking through an italian vogue where literally the only thing i COULD do was look at the pictures, as the text was in italian, these were the first images i really connected with. as some of you may know i have a big thing about nostalgia so the circus and fairytale like theme immediately caught me and took me back to the funfairs and dressup games of a child. these too are on my wall (the vogue wasn't mine...cruel i know but i was told i could take out images for "reference"..) enjoyyy
